\nin our hardest moments
\nin quiet attic battlefields
\nsit with you
\nto weep with joy?<\/p>\n

Do you know
\nthat humans
\nat\u00a0our most afraid
\ncarrying\u00a0hearts so tender
\nact
\nbecause your actions
\ngive us
\nfaith in ourselves?<\/p>\n

Do you know
\nas yet another person
\nloses sight of humanity
\ntaking precious life
\nprecious limbs
\ntaking almost everything that matters
\npointlessly
\nagain and again and, fuck, not again,
\nuntil I want to rip the\u00a0American\u00a0<\/em>
\nand,\u00a0this month,\u00a0the Earthling\u00a0<\/em>badge
\noff my burning human uniform
\nhurl them into dark forgiving space
\nsubmerge\u00a0my inner being in deep quiet waters,
\ndo you know I turn to you?<\/p>\n

When I lose the will to continue<\/p>\n

When I feel helpless and certain<\/p>\n

that there is nothing I can do.<\/p>\n

In that moment<\/p>\n

this <\/em>moment<\/p>\n
